Do you remember kissing under the buttresses of Pharaoh?
Golden sun of Ra
so long ago.

Buried by the sand
taken by your hand
you guided me away from Akhenaten
to the rising son.

I saw the hammers rise and fall
empires lay in ruin
but I still remember your kisses
behind the door of Pharaoh.

Hearts, tarts and other smelly things

Taking the drain down Columbia and through Richelieu
snowflakes falling
whiskey bottle shining.

I love it down here
among the bungled and the botched
sapphiric and vampiric neon globes line our path

Meth that is crackled and rolled on the spot
no hope or mercy
just a hot pipe singeing lips.
Cold memory sears my tongue.

Glittering dreams so far away
waking moments stolen by assimilated screams


they are always putting wires in my head for
the things I did and said
but the written flesh is alive
and those are tears you cry

frosty plume of breath across the neon netted sky
